You might be aware of the story about Fifty Shades of Grey, a masterpiece by well-known English author E.L James. But these are 15 surprising facts that you probably do not know about this sensational movie.
1. The story was penned by an amateur writer.
E.L James a.k.a Erika Mitchell was not yet a professional writer when started with Fifty Shades. In the first book, Anastacia Steele, the submissive lover, was described to talk about an “inner goddess” for fifty-two times.
2. An unusual pen name was initially used for the book.
Before Fifty Shades became a hit, E. L. James was using her another pen name, “Snowqueen’s Icedragon.”
3. She was not allowed to read the book.
J.K Rowling was prohibited from reading the Fifty Shades series by her editor thinking that it will blight the thoughts of the goddess.
4. Several actors rejected the lead role.
There were some considerations for the leading man role. Ryan Gosling, Garret Hedlund, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlie Hunnam, turned down the role of Christian Grey. It was the model turned actor Jamie Dornan, who was finally cast for the role.
5. Dakota Johnson was not the original actor for the lead role.
Angelina Jolie was first considered to be direct Fifty Shades of Grey, but she turned down the offer.
